Our New Baby Boy

This is the newest addition to Steve and Nui. We just got "Rocky" @4pm on Sunday May 3rd. Rocky is a mix of Labrador and Sheppard. He came with his 1st set of shots and the Adoption Animal Foundation where we got him from will also pay for the 2nd set of shots and for him to be neutered.
Buckeye(the cat) took to Rocky fine so far. Popcorn is still undecided and a little unsure of what to do, what else to say but Popcorn is a "momma's boy"

Marlins

Gooooooo Marlins...
On April 24, 2009 Steve and Nui when to their first Marlins game. They played the phillys. The game started out great for the Marlins when they scored 3 runs in the first inning. Then nothing happened until the 9th inning when the phillys came back and scored 7runs...
We both were in shocked of what had happened..lol
But the good part was that the weather was nice!
Now keep in mind that neither Steve or Nui is a Marlins fans but since we both live in Florida... We decided to blend in..lol
But don't worry... when our teams comes down to play the Marlins... we will convert back!

Miami Heat

On April 16,2009... Steve's company took us to the Miami heat game. The seats were in the sky box. We couldn't ask for anything better. We were living the life..lol... All the food you can eat and all the drinks you can drink... O.. and on top of that... We were in our private room...
We had soooooooooo much fun.. Steve got a lil crazy..lol He was dancing and just enjoying life... For a second there, Nui thought that he was going to jump off into the people after the game went into overtime and the heat won.
All in all.. it was definitely one of the night to remember..

Love versus Drugs

So, lets see.... Where do I begin?

I've been struggling with this topic for a while now and I need some help. I don't know what is worse...being addicted to drugs or being addicted to love. Not that I am pro or against drugs, but just looking at it from a different perspective.

I mean... Love is a wonderful thing when you find it... People never have anything bad to say about love until it goes bad. But drugs can also a wonderful thing for the people that needs it to survive.

Love can become a dependent... So can drugs

Love can betters your well being... So can drugs

Love can make you cry... So can drugs

Love can make you laugh... So can drugs

Love can become addiction... So can drugs

Love can cause you to have breakdowns in your mind... So can drugs

Love can make you function incorrectly... So can drugs

Love can leave you wanting more... So can drugs

Love can make the sky bluer... So can drugs

Love can make the grass greener... So can drugs

Love can make the ocean more beautiful... So can drugs

Are you getting my point? Everything that love does.. Drugs can do too...
Both love and drugs can either make you or break you....
So if both love and drugs have the same consequences then why do we choose one over another?
Why do we teach the younger generation that drugs are bad and love is good when both drugs and love have the same effect?

See what I mean? I'm stuck... I don't know why I chose to fall in love and not fall in drugs.. But all I know is that Every now and then I go thru with-draws from not seeing Steve... I think that I'm addicted to Steve... He can possibility be worse than drugs to me...lol

Rough week...

Last week, Nui had a very rough week. For a while now, she has been unhappy with working for Changs. Since the economy went bad, there was no room for her to move up for trainer to manager. (not that she wanted to become a manager) But she also didn't want to be serving and training for the rest of her life. She needed more and felt like she was stuck in the same old place and same old crap everyday... She dread going to work everyday. And of course.. you know what they say... If you have one bad day a week, its ok.. but when you start having three or more continuously then it's time to go. Well this past weekend has come down to that... Nui finally decides that she needed a change, she needed to get out of this business..

She has been looking for jobs online for a while now and the work field is just so competitive. She didn't give up and continue looking... and finally!.. the same day that she decided that she had enough... an email came in... Although she has no experience in selling or marketing, this company still gave her a chance. They gave her the tool and the skills to be successful in the field. Even though it is not her dream job, she still have the opportunity of making lots of money in the long run.

As one door closes... another door opens... How true is that?

This job is very demanding on her time, but that's the scarifies that Nui and Steve will have to make if they want to be able to live comfortably.... To be able to success in this market, NUi will have to really hard and devote her time to it. And Steve will have to understand that this will all pay of in the end and just support Nui in the decision that she makes...

Well... Wish us luck into this phase that we are going thru in our lives....

Missing them already

For the past couple of days Scott and Scotty came to visit us in Florida. We had a great time doing absolutely nothing. Scotty had gotten so big that he is up to Nui's chest now. We must admit that he is such an awesome kid. He is full of personality and charm. We sure wish that they could have stayed longer. The house seems so quiet today after they left.
Although we enjoyed Scott and Scotty visiting us, we would have enjoyed it more if Donna and Alexis came along too. We wonder if Scotty is as tall as Nui's chest then Alexis must be as tall as Nui now.
We are so proud of Alexis for being such a good girl and a good student. We sure miss her and hope to see her in the near future.
It's always nice and comforting to have family close by... Hint Hint.. Mom..
It's horrible that Steve's family lives so far away from us, we would definitely love to spend time with mom and dad, Scott, Donna, Alexis and Scotty more than just once a year.
We sure miss you and think about you all all the time.

New game...

We bought a new game for the wii.. Nascar Kart Racing.. So as you can see, Kyle Busch is leading the pack like he always is. Steve thinks that Jr. is ahead but he is wrong. Jr. is actually a lap behind..lol... Although we haven't played the game yet, but it looks like its going to be a fun one. Nui can't wait to blow up Jr. and beat Steve in this game. Steve thinks that he is going to beat Nui but he has another thing coming his way..hehehe.. Jr. has yet to win a race, and he will yet to win this one.. Anyways, we will definitely keep you updated of the status of who is winning the game!

It's only hair...

On March 16 2009, Nui cut off all of her hair. She chopped of 12 inches of hair from her head. Her hair is going to "Wigs For Kids".. a foundation that makes wigs for kids with cancer. This will be the fifth time that she has done this. It takes about one and a half years for her hair to grow long enough to send it of to the foundation. Even though, she has no regrets cutting off her hair cuz she knows that it is going for a good cause, it is still pretty hard for her to get use to her new hair. The biggest mistake was taking Steve with her to get her hair cut. LOL As we all know, Steve does not like hair. Of course when the opportunity came along where Nui gave Steve the option to tell the hairdresser what kind of style he wanted for her, he went crazy and told her to cut it all off. Steve loves Nui's new hair but Nui is not to fond of it. She thinks that is a little to short and it's just not her. She never had her hair this short before in her life. But in the end... It's only hair.... it'll grow back..

Daytona 500

On Feb 15, 2009 Steve took NUi to her first Daytona 500 race. We met up with Scott and Donna. We had a great time. Although Nui was very upset that Jr. (Steve's driver) was a bad driver and hit Kyle Busch (Nui's Driver) causing him out of the race she still stayed and watch the rest of it. The funny part was that Jr. did not have a chance of winning but because he didn't like Kyle, he decides to take him down.. LOL.. Scott and Donna's drivers did well also... They all managed to stay out of Jr.'s way. And for some odd and stranger reason, Kenseth(Dad's Driver) managed to win the race... Even though Kenseth won because of the rain, it was still a win. We all would have definitely taken the win if it was one of our guy. LOL. Nui thinks that dad really wanted to be there with us, that's why he sent his driver to beat us all.. Over all we had a wonderful time.. The weather was perfect for camping out. But could have definitely done without the port-a-potty!

Superbowl 2009

On Feb. 1st Nui and Steve went to Brus Room to watch the Superbowl. It was Pittsburgh(goin for their Sixth Superbowl Ring) vs Arizona(who were making their 1st trip to the Superbowl). It was a nail bitter throughout the whole game. Pittsburgh's D held the key reciever in check till the final drive of the game for Arizona when Larry Fitzgerald caught a 64 yard pass over the middle and took it to the house. Then with time running out Big Ben drove the Steelers down the field 85+ yards without hesitation. He tossed an over the shoulder pass to non other than Santonio Holmes(whom I don't need to mention but I will because it tickles my fancy played at THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY).

The greatest play of the game and probably of any Superbowl ever played was by James Harrison(linebacker for Pittsburgh) when he returned a Kurt Warner interception for 100 yards for a TD which resulted in a 14 point swing and gave the momentum to Pittsburgh going into the half.

Nui and Steve had custom jerseys made for the game. Nui wore #18(her favorite number) and it had Boo Boo(Steve's nickname for her) on the back of the jersey. Steve wore #3(his favorite number) and obviously had GIT-R-DONE on the back of his jersey.

Finally although it was a great day for Steve and all the other Steeler fans, it was also a very sad and heartbreaking day for Steve as Brus Room closed its doors following the game. The economy took its toll on that location as Brus built a new and bigger location up the street. Steve doesn't care for that spot as it is a little to yuppie for his taste. So Steve's home away from home(which was on Saturday's home of the BUCKEYES and on Sunday's it was the home of the STEELERS) was no longer open. I know you all are thinking that it sounds a lot like HEAVEN and yes let me tell you it was HEAVEN for Steve since moving down to Florida.

OMG I forgot to mention..............................................

Bayboo

Steve...
Before I met you, I never thought that I would be so dependent on anyone but myself. Now that you are in my life, I couldn't imagine my life with out you. You truly complete me. You always seems to find the right words to say at the right time to make me smile. Even when we are apart just thinking of you put smiles on my face.
You might not know it, but you make me whole. You are the light at the end of my tunnel. You're the only thing that keeps me sane. I could not ask for anything better, because you're the best. You make me so happy in so many ways. You've opened my eyes to so many new things. Thank you for everything that you have done for me. Thank you for putting up with me when I pout and when I whine. Thank you for listening to me blabb on about stuff that makes no sense. Most of all thank you for not only being my best freind but also my sole-mate.
I love you so much.. I love the way you hold me. I love the way you hug and kiss me. I love your touches and you smiles. I love the way your eyes glow when they look at me.. Most of all I love that you let me love you!

Aunt Darcy and Uncle Jeff

We just wanted to say thank you very much for letting us invade you house for a week. We are truly grateful for your hospitality. Thank you for making us feel at home.
The house is so beautiful just like the people that live inside it. We couldn't ask for a better aunt and uncle.
Aunt Darcy, you still make the best pasta salad ever. The pasta casserole was also awesome. But Nui's favorite has got to be the sloppy joes..
By the way..We are practing our swing for a rematch the next time we see you..lol
Love you both..

Brutus

We took a tour into Columbus to get some buckeye stuff today. As we went thru town we saw Brutus. Brutus was dressed up in different outfits at different locations. It was really cool.. We only found three of them but we were told that their are a lot more of them out there. They were a part of the "Brutus on Parade" thing.

Nui's first experiences with snow..

My first experience with snow was so awesome. This was the first time that I have ever seen snow in my life. I was so excited that I was actually going to get to play in the soft white snow. Steve wanted nothing to do with the snow. So Haley (my new cousin) was nice enough to play with me. She taught me to slade down the hill. It was so fun!
Haley also taught me how to make a snow angel. But for some reason, mine didn't look as good as hers.
We had so much fun playing in the snow. I didn't want to quit; but since it was getting dark, Haley thought that it would be best to go inside. Thank you Haley for such a wonderful time.
Now all I have to do is to pursuade Steve to move back to Ohio.. Lol

Today is a sad day..

We arrived in Ohio today just in time to say our last goodbyes to Uncle Henry. Although I've never had the pleasure of meeting him when he was well, I feel like I've known him my whole life. The way that the family talked about uncle Henry was so wondeful, the memories that they shared with me I will truly treasure forever. If I can turn back time, I would like to actually get to know this wonderful man in person...

This was also the first time that I met the Ashcraft family for the first time. Eventhough they were in pain, they all gave me a great welcome. They all made me feel like a part of the family. I will never forget the smiles and the warm hugs from my new family. I am totally blessed to be a part of the Ashcraft.

Aunt Phyllis, Perry, and Matt...
We love you with all of our hearts and our thoughts and prayers are with you yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever.
Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you.
p.s. Remember that if you are ever in Florida, please know that you are welcome to stay with us..

Well once again I decided to post another blog regarding Uncle Henry as i have been sitting here all night just thinking about the times I spent with him. The one that comes to mind the most was when I would spend the weekends down in Hanover with Uncle Danny and Uncle Henry while waiting for Keith(Uncle Danny's son) to go and race at R&R Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. I would be sitting over at Uncle Henry's house while I was waiting for Uncle Danny to get his old piece of junk(lol) Chevy S-10 to start. After the temper rose and the foul words started commin outta Uncle Danny's mouth, Uncle Henry would say to me "Stevie I think it's time for you to get over there so you all can head down to the track!!!" lol.
Love you and will miss you always Uncle Henry........

Uncle Henry

Well good evening everybody. I hate to leave a blog like the following, but I have to do it. It is with deep regret that after Perry and Aunt Phyliss spoke with the doctors this evening that they have decided to remove Uncle Henry from the ventilator. They will do so Saturday morning allowing his to brothers Paul and Danny the time to get to Ohio to say their goodbyes. Diane and Danell (Paul's wife and Danny's daughter) will accompany them to ohio.

Steve and Nui will be leaving Friday morning to drive to Beaufort, SC. They will stay in Beaufort Friday night then drive to Ohio Saturday morning early with Steve's brother Scott.

Everybody please pray for Perry, Matt, Aunt Phyliss and the entire Ashcraft family.

Well everybody here she is. I have to say that Nui is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my lifetime. She does everything for me and always puts me first. It is amazing to find someone that compliments me so well.
Nui always knows how to make me laugh and knows me so well. There is not one minute that goes by where we are not thinking of each other. When we are away from each other we miss each other non-stop. It started out that way 4 months ago and unlike most relationships when it wears off our love continues to get stronger and stronger for one another.
We are both sorry and unfortunate that we are not closer to family, but Florida is where we are at for now. Nui is looking forward to July when we go to Ohio to see the Ashcraft clan and mom's side of the family as well.
I have to just end this note with GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 more games to go.
And finally....................
God please watch over our Uncle Henry to pull him through this as he is not ready to leave his family quite yet.
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

hello..

Hello everybody... This is Steve and Nui... We started this blog because we figured that it would be a great idea to give you a little bit of an insight into our lives.
We met each other while Steve was training to become a manager for pf changs. After five weeks of training, Steve finally had the guts to ask Nui out.. And ofcourse, Nui has been waiting for Steve to do so but didn't know how to approach him.
From the first day that Nui laid eyes on Steve, she knew that she was in trouble. She knew that Steve was going to be the one that she was going to spend the rest of her life with. There was something about Steve that caught Nui's attention and still catching it till this day. It hard to say and it's hard to believe but we both kind of knew that we were meant for each other. Steve has never fail to impress Nui in everything that he does for her. He treats her like a queen all the time. He loves her and all of her flaws. Nui couldn't ask for a better man.
Since we've started our jouney together, it has always been an adventure.. Sometimes good and sometimes bad, but in the end we both know that we will always be by each other's side.

Metro Zoo

We were so happy that Scott brought Alexis and Scotty to visit us for New Year. They spent the weekend down in Florida with us. On their first day down.. Nui and Alexis had their girls day while Steve, Scott, and Scotty had their boys day. Nui and Alexis went to the mall, walked around a bit then got their nails done. The boys went around town and looked at Harley's.

The next day we brought the kids down to Miami Metro Zoo. We had a blast. The zoo wasn't all it was cracked up to be because all the animals were sleeping. But we still had a great time. The kids enjoyed the little water park a lot. That was the hi-light of the day. Due to the fact that Scott went with us, we couldn't get junk food into the kids.. but somehow we managed to get some junk food into them..lol! Nui and the kids all got wall-e shirts to wear to the zoo. Uncle Steve didn't get one because he was to big.

We love spending time with the kids. We would love to have them back anyday!
